Eugene Pogany

Newton, MA
metal, wood
While there are many areas of my life that I take very seriously, sculpture for me represents a field of pure play and joy. Part of its fascination is the delicious mystery that, in most instances, I have no idea what will emerge from a piece of wood or collection of metal or debris. Ironically, even as I speak of sculpture as playful, many of my pieces turn out to be contemplative, spiritual, metaphysical, even religious, if at times just whimsical.
