I was drawn to sculpture late in life through serendipity: while exploring NH woods off trail I stumbled upon several works of sculpture carved in the natural rock formations and cliff walls of an abandoned quarry. It was an unexpected, thoroughly magical experience that awakened a creative facet of my soul. I happen to live by a different abandoned quarry and started carving eclectic works using shards of bedrock discarded as worthless a century ago. My work is primitive, often modeled on ancient cultures and neolithic carvings, evoking a time when stone idols had power to spark imagination and wonder.
