The way an artist expresses themselves is always a window to the artist’s soul. The artwork is a subconscious portrayal of everything that makes that person. My artwork is very heavily influenced by my Indian heritage. It is a representation of every experience I have had from my childhood to adulthood. Growing up in India where everyday life is very deeply rooted in religion and spiritualism, consciously or unconsciously a lot of it gets absorbed in everyone. I am amazed that every time I pick up a brush or a lump of clay, my subject always goes towards something with a deep spiritual undertone. Even though I do not identify myself as a spiritual person and I like to be known as simple and practical, I am unable to escape the deep-rooted cultural influence that permeates my soul through generations of people before me.
