Peter Koo’s mission is to engage the viewer with the narrative of his sculptures. The subjects are taken from widely recognized religious stories, mythology and everyday life. The intent is to interpret them in an unexpected and new context and draw the viewer in to see familiar themes with a fresh perspective and delight in exploring all the elements in each piece. Foremost his aim is to create beautiful objects. His work is made from one to twenty layers of paper, cut, carved, molded, glued and sanded. Colors are achieved using dyes and pieces are finished in a clear varnish. Most pieces are available either as framed wall hung bas reliefs or free standing.
