A photographer snaps a photo, a painter recreates a scene and I sculpt to capture a moment in time. For over twenty years I have lived in my home in the woods surrounded by trees. I find myself fascinated with every aspect of the tree; how it grows, how it overcomes obstacles, how it interacts with other living things. What allows this aspect of nature to be so dynamic and adaptable? Does nature by nature succeed absolutely? Using an unnatural material to recreate something that is natural and organic is my attempt at finding the answers to these questions that burden me.
