Gifts from the Garden
July 27, 2017 - October 7, 2017
This summer when visitors come to The Gardens at Elm Bank, Massachusetts Horticultural Society in Wellesley, MA, they will experience something new — an extensive sculpture exhibit created by artists of the New England Sculptors Association. Sculptures are nestled among the flowers and grasses to evoke surprise and delight around each bend of the garden paths.
“We are delighted to integrate these sophisticated sculptures into the gardens at Elm Bank. There are works that will appeal to all, as there are 37 sculptures from 21 different artists. Visitors will be able to visualize how these sculptures can look in their own gardens, and fortunately these sculptural pieces are available for purchase,” said Katherine Macdonald, president, Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
“Visitors will be able to learn about the artists’ creative process through an innovative audio tour,” said Marilyn Ewer, executive director of the New England Sculptors Association. “It’s easy – to access the audio tour, visitors call 617-466-3067 via their cell phone, enter the number of the piece they are interested in, and they can listen to the artist speak about their sculpture.”
Artists in the exhibition include: Elisa Adams, David Adilman, Michael Alfano, Gregory Barry, William Bloomfield, Josie Campbell Dellenbaugh, Kevin Duffy, Larry Elardo, Yetti Frenkel, Douglass Gray, Joseph Gray, Linda Hoffman, Madeleine Lord, Fred Manasse, Judith Morton, David Skora, Karin Stanley, Steve Storch, Alan Weinstein, Joyce Audy Zarins, and Melanie Zibit.
