Introduction to Working with Wax Workshop
March 3 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join NESA member Justin Perlman for this exciting workshop!
Wax is an incredibly versatile material. It can be modeled like clay or carved and tooled for extreme fine detail. Typically, sculptors encounter it for the first time when casting a copy for bronze casting, but it can also serve as an excellent primary sculpting medium meant to be molded and cast. This work shop will introduce the participant to tools and techniques for working in this material and will touch on chasing waxes in preparation for bronze castings, as well as exploring possibilities in a new sculpting medium.
Justin Perlman teaches sculpture, metal work, and bronze casting at the Silvermine Art center in New Canaan, CT
