Sea to Shore: Sculpture Inspired by the New England Seacoast

This juried exhibition of contemporary sculpture opened at Governor John Langdon House at 143 Pleasant Street in Portsmouth, N.H. on June 2. The grounds are open daily, the House is open Friday – Sunday from 11 am – 5 pm

Organized by Historic New England and the New England Sculptors Association, Sea to Shore presents forty-five sculptures from twenty-nine artists working in alabaster, marble, fiberglass, copper, steel, wood, clay, fieldstone, granite, and other materials. The artists drew inspiration from the natural world, the history of the coastal fishing industry, folk tales, sea vessels, and the simple freedom to enjoy a day at the beach. Their work will be on display in the historic rooms and on the grounds at Governor John Langdon House.

Artists in the exhibit include: Elisa Adams, David Adilman, Thomas Berger, William Bloomfield, Kathleen Brennan, Jeffrey Briggs, Lindley Briggs, Jeffrey Cooper, Josie Campbell Dellenbaugh, Nancy Diefenbach, Irene Fairley, Danielle Gerber, Douglass Gray, Madeleine Lord, Valery Mahuchy, Judith Morton, Susan Neet Goodwin, Morris Norvin, James Pyne, Daniel Rocha, Mara Sfara, Amanda Sisk, Kimberly J.B. Smith, Pete Spampinato, Karin Stanley, Derrick Te Paske, Martin Ulman, John Vasapoli, Alan Weinstein, and Melanie Zibit.
