Injury Prevention & Wellness Workshop for Artists at Sanctuary Arts

Saturday December 6

4 – 5 pm

Physiatrist Emma Desjardins has launched a new Performing Arts Medicine program at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital and is offering a free workshop at Sanctuary Arts.
This 1-hour session will be tailored to the unique needs of painters, sculptors, potters, and others working in our community. Emma Desjardins is a sports medicine physiatrist with a special interest in caring for artists. She has recently launched an initiative to support the health and wellness of those in the creative community—particularly those with musculoskeletal concerns that can arise from the physical demands of their craft.
The workshop will include:
• Practical strategies for preventing common overuse injuries
• Ergonomic tips for artists
• Gentle movement and posture awareness exercises
• Q&A time for personalized guidance
