Material Mapping: Data-driven Sculpture by Adrien Segal and Norwood Viviano features two artists working at the intersection of information and craft. Using a range of materials, from glass to wood to steel, Adrien Segal and Norwood Viviano transform data into tactile, sculptural forms.
Segal seeks to bridge the divide between scientific observation and emotional engagement, with objects that examine changes to our natural environment. Also responding to change, Viviano creates artwork that materializes industry-related
population shifts. Together, the artists offer dimensional pathways for understanding the world around us and our lasting impact upon it.
This exhibition was made possible, in part, by Heller Gallery, Baker Testing Services, MathWorks, The Massachusetts Cultural Council, and ArtScope.
