Harbinger and In the Garden by Chris Plaisted are now on view in Hattiesburg and Oxford, MS.
From Chris –
“Harbinger is inspired by the religious artifacts at the Cloisters in Manhattan. As you walk around this sculpture, you may see various things: a cross, a seven for the seven deadly sins, a four for the four riders of the Apocalypse, nine bars holding up the arm for the ten plagues of Egypt, and I decided to leave out the last one. By definition, a harbinger foreshadows what is to come. Iād like to think that as each visitor experiences its form, they may look forward to good things in the future. Harbinger was previously displayed at The Mount, The Pearce Ball Gallery in Stamford, Lakeland FL, RoanokeVA, and Peoria IL.
In the Garden would be at home on a city street, in your garden or backyard, and would induce a calm and peaceful state, a quiet serenity. In the Garden was previously displayed Greenville NC, Salisbury NC, Fayetteville NC, Worcester MA, and Concord NH.
When doing projects of this size, you have to consider assembling and deconstructing them, as well as transporting the piece. The size of the actual components is part of the planning process. You must also consider the structural integrity and aesthetics. Harbinger can fit into a 6ā x 12ā trailer and be built or deconstructed in less than an hour.
