The Coastal Preservation Network is seeking a sculpture in a local NYC park that’s named after sculptor Hermon A. MacNeil. MacNeil was born and educated in Massachusetts, and taught/lived/worked in various New York locations. The 28-acre park on the East River was renamed in 1966 on the 100th anniversary of sculptor MacNeil’s birth whose home and art studio were adjacent to the park. Proposed sculpture can be constructed using the artist’s choice of materials and should depict a theme of nature. The chosen artist will receive an award of $1,000.00 toward creation of their proposed artwork.
Deadline for submission in May 17th.
