“We Are Brookline” Mosaic Mural by Bette Ann Libby

This 6×10’ mosaic mural was commissioned by the town of Brookline and installed in Brookline Village. It is constructed of mirror, glass, and glass negatives. See it at 2 Harvard St Brookline Village..

Based on reflections and memories of Brookline “Then and Now”, the mural features iconic landmarks in Brookline Village which are incorporated into the outlines of this mosaic. In the foreground, two local women from the turn of the century, are each seated by a window, frozen in time within photographic glass negatives. Viewers are encouraged to pause and take a selfie as you view yourself reflected in the mirrors and become part of the image.
