YV ART MUSEUM – Contemporary Arts International in Acton, Massachusetts Annual Sculpture Symposium

The “New Art Archeology” program at the YV Art Museum creates artifacts with a 21st century interpretation on figurative sculpture using the Quarry’s existing granite blocks. The created artwork remains on site permanently as an archeological landmark for the future.

This year’s symposium runs from Aug 1 to Aug 22 with six professional sculptors including NESA members
David Adilman (Andover, MA), Kevin Duffy (Arlington, MA), Marin Murakoshi (Japan/Newton MA),  and Memy Ish Shalom (Isreal/Newton MA). They are joined by sculptors Miguel Velit (Peru), and Yin Peet (Taiwan/Acton MA).

The museum grounds are open to the public everyday (2pm-5pm) for visitors to observe and marvel at the artists’ creative process. The exhibition opening is Sunday, August 21 at 2pm. 68 Quarry Road, Acton, MA 01720

(The museum admission fee is $10, $5 for senior and under 16, free for children under 7).
